I Jornadas de Historia de la Fotografía en Extremadura

The I Jornadas de Historia de la Fotografía en Extremadura, to be held on 28-29 March 2025 in Badajoz, aims to address the need to locate, identify and document the dispersed photographic heritage of Extremadura. It highlights the challenges in the preservation and dissemination of photographic documentation in the region, including the dispersion of collections in private hands, the lack of standardised documentation practices and the absence of a central institution overseeing the management and dissemination of these materials.

The event will feature thematic blocks covering the history of photography in Extremadura, photographers in the region and the conservation and treatment of photographic collections. The programme includes lectures, paper presentations and an exhibition.
