VI Conference on Research on the History of Photography
The VI Conference will be dedicated to the theme “Aragon and its photographic heritage, 1839-1945” and will be held on October 29, 30 and 31, 2025 at the headquarters of the Institución Fernando el Católico (IFC), in Zaragoza.

The FBS Foundation is launching its call for applications for documentary research on stereoscopic photography, with proposals accepted from 15 December 2024 to 10 January 2025.
L’heliogravat al Segle XXI
Carles Mitjà presents ‘L’heliogravat al Segle XXI’, an exhibition of 35 heliogravures and a copper plate. It opens on 21 November at the Casa de Cultura de la Diputació de Girona and includes a talk and guided tour on 28 November.

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, it was announced through the Patrimonio Nacional, that the youngest daughter of the Kings will be the godmother of this newly created photography contest, coinciding with the Day of Monuments and Sites, which is celebrated coincidentally with this date.
A romantic portrait, Carte de visite
Photographic portraits were a social phenomenon in the second half of the 19th century. This new carte de visita format brought with it a huge demand, and this, together with the competition between the studios that were setting up shop attracted by this unusual business opportunity of the 1960s, led to a gradual lowering of prices, which that turned portraiture into an art form accessible to a greater number of social classes. The practice of portraiture became common in the daily lives of families.
