On Thursday, April 18, 2024, it was announced through the Patrimonio Nacional, that the youngest daughter of the Kings will be the godmother of this newly created photography contest, coinciding with the Day of Monuments and Sites, which is celebrated coincidentally with this date.
A romantic portrait, Carte de visite
Photographic portraits were a social phenomenon in the second half of the 19th century. This new carte de visita format brought with it a huge demand, and this, together with the competition between the studios that were setting up shop attracted by this unusual business opportunity of the 1960s, led to a gradual lowering of prices, which that turned portraiture into an art form accessible to a greater number of social classes. The practice of portraiture became common in the daily lives of families.

5th Conference on Research in Photography
The fifth edition of the Conference on Research in the History of Photography. 1839-1939: a century of photography, which has been held biennially since 2015 in Zaragoza, is scheduled to take place on the 25, 26 and 27 of October 2023.
